Terms of Service

By using the Chessllenge app you accept the terms below. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
1. The service
Chessllenge is a free, competitive online chess app played by the classical rules of chess. The service is provided “as is”.
2. Your account
- Your account is anonymous and requires no personal information.
- The recovery code you are given is the only key to your account. Keeping it safe is your responsibility. If you lose it, we cannot restore your account.
- Do not share your code with anyone; if you do, you are responsible for what happens on your account.
- You must be at least 13 years old to use the app.
3. Fair play
This is a competitive platform. The following are prohibited and may lead to permanent closure of your account:
- Engine or bot assistance: using a chess engine or software help in games against humans.
- Collusion / win-trading: playing arranged games to inflate rating or tournament points. The system automatically flags repeated suspicious pairings.
- Smurfing: using multiple accounts to manipulate matchmaking.
- Sending automated requests to the service, reverse-engineering it, or overloading the server.
In case of fair-play violations we reserve the right to reset your rating, remove you from the leaderboard, or close your account.

4. Conduct and usernames
Usernames may not contain insults, hate speech or misleading identities. We reserve the right to change inappropriate names or close the account.
5. Fees
The app is free. There is no pay-to-win: no payment grants a competitive advantage. If cosmetic (visual only) purchases are added later, they will not affect playing strength and the app stores' refund rules will apply.
6. In-game items
Coins, cosmetics and season rewards have no real-world monetary value, cannot be transferred, and are not refundable if your account is closed or the service ends.
7. Disclaimer
The service is provided “as is”, without any warranty of uninterrupted or error-free operation. We are not liable for indirect damages arising from data loss, service interruption or rating changes. Our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law. Your mandatory rights under consumer law are unaffected.
8. Termination
We may change or discontinue the service at any time. If we discontinue it, we will try to give reasonable notice. You may delete your account at any time.
9. Changes
If these terms change we will update the “Last updated” date and announce it in the app. Continued use means you accept the new terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. Your mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence are unaffected.
